This young but passionate appointment promotes the art of watchmaking in all its facets and contributes to bringing a fresh, dynamic and exciting air to the city of Geneva by renewing the genre of traditional watchmaking events.
Among these pages, SuperyachtOne highlights a selection of impressive new timepieces that have been presented during the Show.
Urwerk – UR-100V UltraViolet
The UR-100V UltraViolet picks up the codes of the 100 family. On the UR-100V, the satellite hours and minutes display is complemented by new information. Once the 60th minute has been reached, the minutes hand vanishes and reappears as a kilometre counter. It illustrates the 555 kilometres travelled every 20 minutes by every inhabitant of Planet Earth. This is in fact the average speed of rotation of the Earth calculated at the Equator (rotational distance).
Moser – Streamliner Tourbillon Vantablack®
Minimalist, ultra-modern and timeless. H. Moser & Cie. is releasing a red gold Streamliner equipped with the manufacture’s automatic calibre with flying tourbillon. The streamlined aesthetic of this ode to minimalism complements the complexity of the movement and the materials chosen. The Manufacture distils the essence of the tourbillon, the traditional Haute Horlogerie mechanism, combining it with Vantablack®, an innovative coating used in astrophysics and taken from the aeronautical industry.
Bvlgari – Octo Finissimo Skeleton 8 Days
The Octo Finissimo Skeleton 8 Days is a perfect fusion of design and watchmaking expertise and embodies the quintessence of the Octo spirit. Its sculptural new Manufacture movement plays on contrasts for perfect legibility and is endowed an impressive 8-day power reserve. The satin-finished pink gold case measuring 40 mm in diameter – for a thickness of 5.95 mm – is fitted with a sapphire back and is water-resistant to 30 metres. It unfolds on a brown alligator strap with a pin buckle.
Hautlence – Linear Series 1 model
With a new structure based in Schaffhausen and operational support from its sister company, H. Moser & Cie., the brand is now being headed by Samuel Hoffmann, who has also introdu-ced a new brand concept and product strategy. Linear Series 1 model kicks off this major new step for the Maison. On the left of the dial, a graduated scale indicates the hours using a link-age. A small white pointer on the end of the linkage indicates the hour on the vertical scale. Once the 12 numeral is passed, the snail disengages the probe to release the accumulated energy. The linkage then jumps and returns to the 1 numeral.
Ulysse Nardin – BLAST TOURBILLON RAINBOW
Limited to 50 timepieces, the skeleton “X” dial’s complex and geometric forms on this imposing 45mm timepiece with a micro-rotor in platinum placed at 12 o’clock blow-up traditional watch design. To soften the look, a total of 50 rubies and sapphire baguette gemstones adorn the bezel and the indexes of this BLAST RAINBOW. Water resistant to 50 meters and driven by an automatic flying tourbillon, the BLAST is powered by the UN-172 caliber movement with Silicium technology.
Czapeck – Sapphire Blue L
Czapek & Cie has announced the release of Sapphire Blue L, a new model for its Quai des Bergues guilloché “Ricochet” line with a redesigned movement inside. The calibre driving the watch, the manually wound, seven-day power reserve SXH1, has been given a careful make-over. Moreover, the deep emerald green tone, close to British racing green, gives the dial an unusual intensity.
Arnold & Son – Luna Magna Ultimate II
Arnold & Son has released a new high-jewellery version of its three-dimensional moon model. Limited to 8 pieces, the blue-green glow of the Paraíba tourmaline is the cornerstone of this masterpiece. Luna Magna Ultimate II is adorned with PVD-treated ruthenium crystals. Encircled by baguette-cut diamonds, the dial adopts the same shade as the Paraíba, which is one of the rarest and most precious gemstones and is pavé-set on the three-dimensional astronomical moon.
Byrne – GyroDial
One watch, four looks. With its made-to-measure movement, every evening at midnight, or whenever you choose, there is a changing of the four cardinal indexes on the GyroDial. Arabic numerals, Roman numerals, special characters or designs – each index is displayed on the face of a flush-mounted rotating block; the jump from one display to the next is disconcertingly instantaneous. And because time is what you make of it, Byrne also offers the possibility of customising the faces of each rotating block, as well as the case material.
Jacob & Co – Astronomia Solar Bitcoin
Housed in a 44 mm, black DLC titanium case, the Astronomia Solar Bitcoin is a symbolic and horological tribute to the world of cryptocurrency. A Bitcoin currency logo. A flying tourbillon. A yellow citrine sun, a diamond moon and a golden Earth. A miniature rocketship to reach for the moon. All these symbols tell the story of the advent of the first cryptocurrency, from abstraction to reality, from outlier to a mainstay of the financial system. Jacob&Co. is also taking the step of selling the 25 pieces of this peerless watch in cryptocurrencies.
