As the scorching summer gathers pace, the desire for carefree fun in the sun is combined with the exciting idea of sea breezes and crystal-clear blue waters, spending many hours enjoying sports and leisure in the best company.
Enthusiastically representing this sentiment is Zazou, the attractive 65-metre (213’3″) long motoryacht built at Benetti’s all-Italian shipyard. It has a joyful sporty style and fresh design that took to the water in 2021, and is now in splendid shape and ready to entertain guests.
With her Blue Carinthia hull in steel and aluminium superstructure, she stands out for the sleek design conceived by designer Giorgio M. Cassetta, and is not afraid of the competition. A plus point is the interesting conformation of its remarkably large sundeck.
Her three decks have an elegant and functional aesthetic and a modern design, extending to a beam of 11.9m (39’1″), with considerable and generous volumes (1180 GT) that offer spacious rooms a real sea experience even when enjoying moments inside the yacht: exceptional panoramic views and comfortable accommodation for up to 10+2 guests in six guest cabins, all according to precise criteria set out by creative Dutch designer Sander J. Sinot of the design firm Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design.
A project that fully involved her expert owner in the stylistic research for a full custom realisation, with the careful choice of materials, from the unusual exotic marbles to the more than 120 types of wood selected and the precious types of leather added to the different textures, tastefully combined with furnishing elements. The result is a sophisticated and comfortable setting featuring soft colours and shades of blue for a refined contrast.
Once on board, guests will be able to comfortably go up and down using the transparent, circular interior lift enveloped by a soft staircase.
Walking along the Main Deck from stern to bow, you can appreciate the large open-air area dedicated to chatting and relaxing, sheltered from the sun’s rays, where many guests can congregate. Passing through the large glass doors, where privacy is guaranteed, you enter the spacious and bright living area furnished in light colours. This area can be transformed if necessary into a comfortable cinema room or a dining area for ten guests, and is perfect for true gourmets, illuminated by sunlight during the day and artfully in the evening.
On the Main Deck there is also the Master Suite, easy to reach for the owner. It is an open space consisting of a lounge with TV for relaxing at any time of the day, a generous double wardrobe, a large bed with a second TV, a large, well-maintained bathroom with shower and a private balcony accessible through a sliding door, ideal for having breakfast in the fresh morning air.
Going down to the Lower Deck amidships, guests reach the sleeping quarters, with three generous double cabins and a single cabin. From here they can reach the large beach area with two openings to the outside: one at the stern that allows access to the beach, and a hatch on the port side that turns into a second platform on the water. Inside the beach club a lounge area with table, sofa and armchairs is complemented by an enclosed space for storing water toys.
Towards the bow is the modern galley, from which delicious dishes are cooked and served to all the decks where the owners are present. Next to the galley, a close-knit crew of 14 members have a place to meet and rest, but always ready to face up to any eventuality.
Going up to the private Upper Deck, the sky lounge with cosy outdoor spaces aft is furnished with custom furniture, and is ideal for private meetings and chats. Inside, on the same deck, a massage room that can be converted into a double VIP cabin precedes the spacious and modern wheelhouse with integrated Furuno bridge, the adjacent ship office and on the port side of the ship the captain’s cabin and a pantry.
On the outside deck at the bow is a comfortable area with sofas and sundeck that can also be used while sailing. Zazou also has a generous space at the bow that can be used for a variety of leisure activities, from morning yoga classes to evening parties, and if necessary can be a Touch & Go helipad area for quick trips.
Zazou really stands out however for the exclusiveness of her Sun Deck. At the express request of her owner, who wanted greater contact with the sea, the Sun Deck covers a single 36-metre space, with over 200 square metres dedicated to relaxation, entertainment, convivial moments and sport, offering a continuous view from stern to bow and a breathtaking view of the sea at all times of the day.
Space has been carefully maximized to create a bar area, dining area with a large table for up to 14 guests to come together aft, and a sunbathing area that can be converted in the evening into an atmospheric open-air cinema.
In addition, there is the dual-use hydro-massage pool with counter-current swimming at the far bow, followed by a gym area complete with highly professional equipment that can also be used in the cooler seasons thanks to the mobile verandas, that create a pleasant winter garden.
Zazou is powered by two Caterpillar diesel engines (3700 hp) that allow her to reach a cruising speed of 15.0 kn and a top speed of 16.0 kn and boasts a range of around 5,000 nautical miles at 12.0 kn in optimal weather conditions, allowing her to sail really far or stay for longer periods along the magnificent Mediterranean coastlines, where she can be admired as she sails along her route or lies at anchor with her full collection of water toys, or is berthed in one of the Med’s magnificent yachting marinas.
