To mark its golden anniversary Riva’s dream of launching a superyacht is turning into reality.

Carlo Riva’s visionary idea in the 1970s of a 50-metre superyacht with a steel and aluminium structure and a spectacular design is now taking form, the best possible way of celebrating half a century of inventiveness and ambition.

Riva is a brand that has grown gradually over the years, starting from the iconic and “evergreen” tenders that are still admired worldwide. The brilliance of its founder has been developed over the decades, maintaining the same iconic style, thanks in part to the group it belongs to, one of the world’s most successful. Now the company is ready to take another step forward in the coming months with the new 50-metre Riva yacht, the first product of the Riva Superyachts division and heir to the famous series of craft  “Caravelle”, “Atlantic”, “Marco Polo” and “Vespucci” M/Y.

In the new project the prospective owner be able to choose many of the final details in terms of layout and interior design. The steel hull of the new superyacht is 50 metres in length, with a maximum beam of 9 metres.

The craft is being built in the Ancona yard on the Adriatic sea, in a dynamic district where other shipbuilding groups are operational.

This project will benefit from the group’s engineering expertise and Riva’s very own team of engineers, working in partnership with Officina Italiana Design, the company founded by Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta that designs all of Riva’s craft.

The new yacht has a total of four decks. It has a master suite on the main deck, a luxury VIP cabin and four VIP suites on the lower deck, accommodating up to 12 guests.

The solarium area has a Jacuzzi, a sun pad and a generous space for dining and relaxing.

A large beach club at the stern is an area for relaxing and for keeping a possible tender. There is also room for other “toys”, such as two jet-skis and a rescue boat.

In terms of performance, it will have a cruising speed of 11 knots, thanks to its modest weight, coming in below 500 tonnes. It will be able to travel 3,500 nautical miles without having to refuel at speeds of up to 15 knots when sea conditions allow.

This craft will be one of the most eagerly awaited novelties of 2018, a year in which celebrations are already planned for the brand. It is sure to attract many potential buyers, especially in the US market, as well as “insiders” working in the sector, who will be keen to uncover its hidden features.
