The C122, the latest build from CODECASA, is a relevant superyacht that is only lacking a more fitting and noble name. The craft is ready for a new owner that wants to take to the sea in the coming season knowing that he has chosen authentic style and quality.
We are taking a first look at the spanking new 43m superyacht that is part of the Vintage line, conceived in 2011, accompanied by Raffaella Bartali of the Codecasa team, who have kindly opened their doors for us.
We can immediately see the extremely clean external lines, a veritable blend of modernity and tradition. The first impression is that this craft is destined to be a future evergreen. Its metallic grey colour has a distinctive and masculine look. This shade is often used for futuristic models.
The new 43m superyacht of the well-established and experienced Italian shipyard is destined to be a future evergreen.
And her new owner will be able to attend the final launch just few weeks after the purchase. Here the future is already with us, ready to live life to the full.
Outside spaces are very spacious, with a carefully shaded sundeck, a comfortable rollbar and a convenient central Jacuzzi, from which you can watch a retractable television. This setting promises warm, long moments of relaxation and pleasure, in or out of the rays of the sun during the day, enjoying the sea breeze with a thirst-quenching cocktail at sunset, listening to relaxing lounge music while seated comfortably at the bar with friends, or an intimate dinner after the sun has gone down with a magnificent coastline for a backdrop. Inside, the open spaces are generous. The lounge area in particular does not seem to end, and boasts a complex system of visible and invisible lighting.
The large windows offer a sophisticated oceangoing atmosphere, making you want to live on board well after your holidays are over. On-board domotics are carefully concealed, as are the many high-design wall-based commands and the double pop-up television set, which can be watched in the saloon, seated on comfortable and large sofas, and in the dining room.
The interior design is refined, with attention to detail and bright colours, including yellow, grey and ivory. The details have been very carefully thought about in order to build a single vision of the whole, inspired by the diffused lighting.
Art and design elements are skilfully placed to maintain the harmony between white and some elements decorated in shades of gold. The shell-shaped lampshades give the pleasing impression of living in a contemporary art exhibition.
The bleached oak flooring cleverly reflects light and offers a soft surface over nearly the whole craft, barring the owner’s prow bathroom and the halls, which are reserved for the patterns created by precious Calacatta marble, known to those in the know as a rare natural material, laid expertly to recall the carpets of special guests. Comfortable and elegant Poltrona Frau chairs are placed on top of specially-cut large carpets.
Chivasso fabrics, among the best in the decor world, have been used to furnish interior spaces, and Jab Jim Thompson and Robert Allen have contributed with attractive pieces.
Eight guests can expect the same level of luxury and attention in 2 double cabins and 2 twin cabins and rosewood marble bathrooms, made with the same light intensity.
The bridge deck offers generous spaces and improved habitability as well as being direct connected with captain’s cabin.
Guests increasingly like to visit the craft’s point of command, in order to experience even for few brief moments the excitement and the sensations of the person in charge of steering the craft and maintaining the course. The crew moreover can make use of a cosy and practical area for up to 8 persons. Thanks to special entry points it is rapidly accessible from all points of the yacht without jeopardising the privacy of the owner and his/her guests. From a technical point of view the C122 is a Motor Yacht within the 500t gross tonnage range. It can reach up to 16.5kn under the best sea conditions, or can cruise at 11kn for up to 4,000 nautical miles, thanks to its two powerful Caterpillar engines that can handle difficult sailing conditions all over the world.
There is of course the option of fully customising the interior decor and deciding on the tiniest details at any time. You can also attend the final launch just few weeks after the purchase.
We should spend a few words here on the builder of this superyacht, which is a large craft but in line with the expectations of an expert owner.
Codecasa is a well-established and experienced company, and is considered to be one of the best shipbuilders in Italy and the world. It is a worthy representative of high quality Italian production, possessing historical expertise, an internal design team and a place in the world’s largest nautical district, in the historic Versilia area, which is now in great ferment.
This family has handed down its know-how from generation to generation, and remained firm in the belief t hat the crisis would eventually pass.
It has retained its position in the market with a production which, while limited in terms of actual numbers compared with other major builders, has remained sound in terms of size and quality, being ready and able to make superyachts up to 70 metres (230 ft.) long.
The cost of this jewel of the sea is reserved (POR), however the experience of previous yachts launched by the yard shows that its products keep their value over a number of years, thanks to the quality work guaranteed over almost two centuries of history.
